PRODUCT
What Absentia produces.
Absentia analyzes the structure of a document production and identifies patterns consistent with missing material.
Production-completeness auditing: the input is a production, the output is a ranked set of potential gaps, and each one carries the evidence behind it.
What it does not do is on this page too.
01 INPUT
The production itself.
Absentia reads the corpus as delivered: documents, messages, attachments, and the records that refer to them.
It does not depend on access to the producing party's systems, custodians, or review process. That access is what the requesting side does not have.
- INPUT
- A document production, as delivered.
- SCOPE
- The corpus itself: documents, messages, attachments, and the records that refer to them.
- NOT REQUIRED
- Access to the producing party's systems, custodians, or review process.
DEPLOYMENT
Absentia can run entirely inside your environment.
Supported formats and delivery are confirmed during access review, not published here.
02 OUTPUT
A lead. With a reason.
Absentia ranks potential gaps and shows the evidence behind each one, so counsel can decide what to investigate, what to ask, and what to preserve.
- RANK
- Potential gaps, ordered.
- EVIDENCE
- The material in the corpus behind each flag.
- DECISION
- What to investigate, what to ask, what to preserve. Counsel's, in every case.
03 USE
What the result is for.
Use the result to:
- 01 Prepare a meet-and-confer.
- 02 Target follow-up discovery.
- 03 Test a production before it leaves your firm.
- 04 Document why a gap deserves attention.
Two directions are in scope: a production received from another party, and a production about to be served.
04 BOUNDARY
A signal is not a verdict.
Absentia does not prove spoliation. It does not promise that every missing document can be found. Some records never existed. Some gaps are ordinary. Some loss cannot be reconstructed.
It gives litigation teams something they rarely have at the start: a systematic reason to look.
